Five Linguistics' seniors gave presentations of their Honors Theses research on May 9th to an audience of faculty and students. For their outstanding research, two seniors were awarded Magna Cum Laude honors, and three were awarded Summa Cum Laude honors.
Their presentations were as follows:
- Christian Brickhouse (Summa Cum Laude) - Concurring in Part: Investigating long-term sociophonetic convergence amongst Supreme Court justices
- Niels Torben Kuehlert (Magna Cum Laude) - Viability of the *eti Particle Theory to explain Absolute/Conjunct Distinction in Old Irish
- Matt Linden (Summa Cum Laude) - Loanwords in Haudenosaunee: Linguistic and Historical Perspectives on Loanwords in the Iroquoian Confederacy Languages
- Melody Li (Magna Cum Laude) - Wh-Movement and Focus Predicate Concord in Old Japanese
- Patrick M. Niedzielski (Summa Cum Laude) - Ergativity, Agreement, and the Sumerian Verbal Complex
